How to Throw a Craft Prom

Two weeks ago, Craftville hosted its very first fundraising event: Craftsquerade: A Prom for All Ages, at the very classy Rymer Gallery on Friday, the 13th of May. It was a night to remember, complete with DIY mask-making at the craft table, hors d’oeuvres, sangria bar, photo booth, live DJ, prom court, and even a robot dance-off.

It wasn’t obvious from the beginning that Craftsquerade would be a success. In fact, it wasn’t obvious to most of us until after the event actually happened. Most of the Craftville staff were still in full panic mode several hours into Craftsquerade, when they had gotten enough sangria in them to kick back and (in the case of Emily and me) bust a move on the floor.
